For the 2nd Saturday of September 2010...

On this second weekend of the 2010 college football season, my California Golden Bears, following a surprisingly easy victory over California-Davis, face a much tougher opponent and future Pac-12 member, The Colorado Buffaloes.

Meanwhile, THE ICEMAN's Arizona State Sun Devils, following their expected easy win over the Big Sky's Portland State Vikings, host another Big Sky team, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. :roll:

Unfortunately SD is still on top in the standings by a single percentage point over SF. That will change. 8-)

I'm actually heading up near Flagstaff today for a day trip. Hopefully I will be back in time for the ASU/NAU game.

The California Golden Bears score another surprisingly easy victory over the horribly, grievously bungling buffaloes from colorado.

Meanwhile, THE ICEMAN's Arizona State Sun Devils pull away late from the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. :roll:

Unfortunately, our arch rivals, the eternally damnable junior university and the damnable tucson mildrats from FUOFEH also win.

<--and, here's hoping that The San Francisco Giants can leave The (Just Plain Old) Site-Poor Backyard more or less tied with the FPDRES...

Well, ICEMAN, since I was born and raised in The Horribly Site-Poor San Francisco Bay Area, it was only natural that my sports loyalties would be with teams in that area...

<--with the obvious exception, of course, of that eternally damnable junior university... :lol:

There's more I could say about the conduct and apparent dearth of decent sportsmanship amongst some of the sports fans here in The (Just Plain Old) Site-Poor Backyard, but for now I'll stop here. :evil:

Understood. I'm much the same way in that my family was from the Bay Area so the Niners, Giants & even the Raiders are my teams. 8-)

Although my Mom, who grew up in Oakland, disowned the Raiders when Al Davis moved the team to F-LA. She calls them the Traitors. :lol:

In a rare Friday night game, my California Golden Bears head to Reno to face The Nevada Wolfpack, and what could well be a serious landmine.

My Sun Devils have a tough job of their own today going up against 'Sconcin'.

Welcome to Sunday...

Well, my Sun Devils kicked some Badger butt & still came up short. With only one more yard on a punt return at the end of the first half & a non-call for interference on a play in the end zone (the ref was looking right at it), ASU should have won by two touchdowns. :evil:

Oh well, overall it showed that ASU should be ready for conference play next week.
Unfortunately FUofEH pulled out a late victory & that eternally-damnable junior university also won.

For the 3rd Sunday of September 2010...

What a godawful, horrible weekend for not only me, but also BARBIE and THE ICEMAN. My California Golden Bears get unmercifully run over by The Nevada Wolfpack on Friday, committing several grievous bungles along the way. The ICEMAN's Arizona State Sun Devils give the usually boring and slow wisconsin badgers all they can handle, only to lose on a blocked PAT.

As if that weren't enough, that eternally damnable junior university blows The Wake Forest Demon Deacons all the way back to Winston-Salem. And, those damnable tucson mildrats hang on to score an unexpected upset of BARBIE's Iowa Hawkeyes.

Finally, adding more injury to injury, my San Francisco Giants once again fall to The Brew Crew, falling out of first place in The NL West to those damnable FPDRES. Looks like more than a lil extra coffee is called for today.

For the 4th and final Sunday of September 2010...

Another godawful, horrible weekend for me and THE ICEMAN. My California Golden Bears horribly and grievously bungle away a golden opportunity to stick it to those damnable tucson mildrats. The ICEMAN's Arizona State Sun Devils did the same against The Oregon Ducks.

Finally, my San Francisco Giants fall to The Rockies by the same score that The Golden Bears lost to those damnable mildrats, once again falling out of first place in The NL West to those damnable FPDRES.

I'm sure that it was simply an oversight that you failed to mention that.

For the 2nd Monday of October 2010, Columbus Day 2010...

A great weekend for THE ICEMAN, as The Arizona State Sun Devils hucked the damnable fuskies, and The Oregon State Beavers down those damnable tucson mildrats. A so-so weekend for me, even with the somewhat unexpected rout by my California Golden Bears over the southern campus bruins, as the eternally damnable junior university got by The Trojans.

Finally, my San Francisco Giants make up for bungling away their second game at home by most gratefully accepting The Braves' bungling away their first home game, opening the door for The Giants to close out the NLDS today and then prepare for FPHLLY.
