Sounds like this new guy Vladimir is all about mobile marketing and social media.

His important quote from below is: "My focus will be on creating content and player programs that will thrill and delight our loyal players and attract new ones" We'll see if he knows anything about content that will thrill the loyal players. Doubt it, but we'll give him a chance to hang himself on his damn "Faceyspaces" pages.

All he has to do is put in some new serious content games spread out across the week and run some more tournaments for games other that SD.

What happened to Glassman? He didn't last long.

NTN Buzztime, Inc. has added a news release to its Investor Relations website.
Title: Buzztime Appoints Vladimir Edelman as Chief Content Officer

Date(s): 9-Feb-2011 9:14 AM

With more than 16 years of experience in digital content & marketing, Edelman joins executive leadership team to drive the evolution of its bar games programming, and consumer experiences

CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

NTN Buzztime, Inc. (NYSE Amex: NTN), a leading social entertainment and integrated marketing platform for bars and restaurants, announced that the company has hired senior level content, marketing, and advertising professional Vladimir Edelman as its Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer.

In Edelman's role as EVP & CCO, he will guide and improve the company's current programming, develop innovative and interactive on-air content, and create a contagious and addictive player experience for Buzztime's 1,500,000 player base. Additionally, he will be tasked with leading player marketing with the goal of creating a long-term relationship between the company's players and its bar and restaurant customers.

"Buzztime's vast, physical, in-venue network along with its player base, and expertise at managing massive synchronized gaming events make it unique among industry participants," said Vladimir Edelman, Executive Vice President & Chief Content Officer for NTN Buzztime, Inc. "I am incredibly excited about this opportunity. My focus will be on creating content and player programs that will thrill and delight our loyal players and attract new ones - in addition to developing additional valuable marketing, retention, and competitive tools our network of bars and restaurants expect and need."

"We look forward to tapping into Vladimir's deep senior level experience to help Buzztime enhance and expand the player experience," noted Michael J. Bush, President and CEO of NTN Buzztime, Inc. "In this position, Vladimir and his team will focus on improving our games and our digital and visual interactions with consumers, while optimizing our PlayersPlus program through rewards, prizing, and social media integration."

Vladimir Edelman brings a wealth of experience in marketing, product, and partnership development to Buzztime. Most recently he was Chief Marketing Officer at envIO Networks, a start-up focused on real-time behavioral targeting using social content-consumption data. Prior to envIO, he founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Ansible, Interpublic Group's mobile marketing agency. Past engagements include Chief Executive Officer of technology platforms provider Soapbox, Chief Marketing Officer at WPP's iconmobile, Vice President & General Manager for Mobile Worldwide at ESPN, and Executive Producer and General Manager at CBS.com. Edelman received his Master's degree from Boston University in Journalism.

Edelman replaces Nick Glassman, Executive Vice President of Product & Technology, who is no longer with the company effective December 31, 2010.

Buzztime employs its network of approximately 3,900 bars and restaurants to strategically reach targeted audiences in a unique way. Additionally, Buzztime engages more than 1,500,000 players who participate in over 50,000,000 bar trivia, cards and sports games each year on its network.

EGADS!!!

I'm surprised that the homeless guy with the golden voice did not get the job of content programing. He must have had better offers.

More techno-crapplications.

I would love for Vlad to say, "We had a great product 4 years ago: better content, better games, more players, better special event games, & happier players. Grab your Passports and let's turn back the clock! (Play "Wipeout" music). First round is on Buzztime!!!

Why do I think of Vlad the Impaler being in charge. Buzztime problem is not attracting new blood but keeping old blood.

It's 4:30 EST and last night's scores still haven't been posted on the website. That must have been one of Vladimir's old duties, and nobody was hired yet to do it. They mention 1,500,000 players. I wonder how many of those are screen names of MEGUMI? Only about 7700 showed up on Tuesday night. Where were the other 1,492,300 players? Seriously, how many active bodies do you think actually sit in front of a playmaker on any given night? I'll bet it's less than 5000.

It happened a couple of weeks ago for Monday's premium game as well.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the top (by P+ points) 100/500/1000 etc. use social media. I am certain the more P+ points, the less social media is used.

I just hope he doesn't repeat the fiasco of dumbing down the premium games. That, IMO, was buzztime's lowest moment.

Worse than 8/8/08?

Yeah. A premium game can not be less challenging than a Countdown game or 15-minute buzztime game. As bad as 8/8/08 was (and as irrating as "encore presentations" were), I still think the dumbing down of premium games was even worse.

And if not for the massive complaints on the buzztime forums about it, who knows if we ever would've gotten our premium games back (although I do realize the same thing applied to getting Countdown back).

Thanks for reminding me that we did get some good things accomplished over there!

So, the Monday through Thursday changes didn't bother you that week?
I believe that you are actually referring to the castration that took place starting on 8/4/08...

If every game save premiums were 15 minutes in length, I doubt I would be playing right now.

If every game were 30 minutes in length save premiums with neutered content, I would (probably) still be playing right now.

Ah hell, I dunno man. Both changes were so over the top it was insane.

And I'm becoming more and more grumpy about all this. :D

I could be wrong, but I think that 1.5 million figure was supposed to be over the course of a year.

Guerrero would get my vote for that question but IMO, both vlads more than have their work cut out for them. I like Franks choice of Vlad the Impaler personally.

Maybe I'm an old-fashioned fuddy duddy, but I usually like to give people at least a chance to screw things up on their own merit before judging their worth.

Besides, could he really be less well received than those who came before?
Or, who knows, maybe he'll bungle things in completely new and exciting ways.
