New Scaratings

I'm curious--would questions about various world religions be considered pop culture and/or "brain-dead shite"? They also are based on belief/faith, and their scientific and often even historical underpinnings are either shaky or nonexistent, but I'm not aware that anyone objects to questions about them as not being a proper Countdown subject.

Well my position on religious faith is well known, but I can certainly see and even share academic interest in study OF religions. Aside from their anthropological value, their claims are at least arguable. Here astrology suffers far more than religiosity. While religions can claim ineffability and lack of DISproof quite easily, astrology is pure bunkum and easily shown to be so. Difference between thinking a Cubs series win is possible and thinking they have won the last six.

We finally got them this week. My opinion is the traditionalists hate them. (I certainly hate them). Our bar only had a maximum of 5 players playing tonight...so nobody's score was off the screen.

One thing I didn't expect... a couple was playing one box, non-P+. I overheard said couple complaining, "how come he gets badge thingies and we don't?" WTG, buzztime!

I was looking in the BT Blog page and next week or so the top 20 scroll will return with the badge you won on the previous question and on the badge count. Hopefully by it returns next Thursday.

Even a few months ago, I would've likely found the new leaderboard to be as annoying as it is unnecessary. But since the split, new schedule, continuous rankings glitches, and overall poor quality, I am finding it increasingly hard to give a damn.

However, to address another comment in this thread, I am hoping that in six years from now we'll be able to look back and see that the Cubs have won the last six World Series....

Hey, they're supposed to be the champions in 2015, at least according to Back to the Future II. Now that Miami officially has a team, it's a little more plausible. Of course, both teams play in the same league, so maybe that scene was recapping the outcome of the NLDS
