New Scaratings

As we were driving to Playback last night, COOGS said, "'The Season' started today." I said, "How could that be? Despite being deluged with e-mail, I didn't hear anything about it." When we got to Mike's Place/JB's, he showed me the sign-in page on the BT website, and sure enough, on the day's schedule of games, it had "The Season" at what would be the slot before Playback in the East zone. But yesterday just the normal Countdown game was on in that slot.

I guess someone was just jumping the gun on the daily schedule because "Season" is now listed on the Saturday schedule in that time slot starting September 8. It is a unified network game.

Seems as though this is a better fit with sports than the pre-Spotlight slot on Friday it had last year. At least folks out on Saturday afternoon are likely to be interested in football, and it might attract new sports-oriented players. However, I'm not sure whether we're going to be keen on coming out that early on the one evening we stay into Late Shift because we're also doing karaoke. 7 p.m. still seems way too early for Playback to start, but we're willing to do that because we like music questions; "Season" doesn't have that same appeal.

I was looking forward to a National game, the excitement just wore off. I won't make a trip to play one national game that is followed by that complete shit box Playback.

Of course, Playback only follows The Season on the East feed.

The West feed gets two hours of Countdown after The Season, then Playback.

I agree with Lewser, I have no real interest to play Playback and usually don't play unless I have absolutely nothing to do. So it is unlikely I will indulge much playing "The season"
