Week 3 Recap:

A major upset, involving The Season 1 champions and five undefeated teams faltering, highlight the Week 3 round-up. With the initial excitement of the start of football season in the rearview mirror, NFL teams like the 49ers and Lions came out of the gate flat. On the other hand, teams like the Vikings, Chiefs and Titans, who played inspired games, triumph as underdogs. The same could be said for a couple of our teams this week and their performances.

“DAYTON,” quarterbacking his Playmaker from Buffalo Wild Wings – Warrenville, IL and representing a team you don’t see at or near the top of too many leaderboards (outside of the NFL Draft order), the fans of the Cleveland Browns, was the Week 3 overall winner of The Season.

Slap-Shotz Family Sports Pub in Avon, MA, was home of the silver and bronze medalists, individually, in the player standings, BADGER and STHALL (both playing for the Packers), but took home the gold for the top site soundly defeating runner-up, Old Chicago in Glendale, AZ.

The biggest news of Week 3 however was the defending champions, Fans of the Houston Texans, who suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Fans of the Denver Broncos, 13,973 – 13,190. We’ve scoured Twitter and all the NFL blogs and apparently there is no truth to the rumor that Payton Manning was seen in the back of a dark, smoky, Denver bar with a Playmaker, leading the upset victory.

Heading into Week 4 we still have seven undefeated teams in The Season standings: New England, Kansas City, Oakland, Washington, Green Bay, Minnesota and Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers and Redskins face off next week, so not more than six teams will advance past the quarter-pole of the NFL season undefeated. Week 4 also signals the final week of the September Sweepstakes where lucky winners of Stubhub Gift Cards and Visa Cash Cards will be awarded, so make sure to be involved in Saturday’s game!
