Yes, I think that 5:30 to 7:00pm PT games should not be split. One benefit of this would be that, even if Buzztime still splits the other games (and I hope they don't) that there would be fewer games they'd have to review for possible cheating.

I will continue playing the prime-time games, even though I don't care for their split-games idea. I still think that separate game times between east and west would require separate questions. What would cost less? Investigating claims of cheating, with the possibility of having to defend themselves in court if nessesary? Or simply writing an extra set of questions for each game, which would enforce the integrity of their games?

After playing for all these years, I do not believ that BT will even make an effort to address the cheating issue. I think that it is just lip service. Separate questions is a good idea, but then one group will likely bring up an issue that their set of questions were harder and is not fair. This would especially be true if their area scores were worse.

Having separate question will cause variations in scores just as you can expect variations from one week to the next anyway. One advantage of separate questions is that a site should be able to show bith of the "split" games. By default, the first showing of a game would appear in AT, ET, and CT, and the second showing would appear in MT, PT, AKT, and HT. But with separate questions, a site could override the defaults, and show both versions of each game without loss of integrity.

I fully expect Buzztime to crack down on cheating, by cutting the cash prizes of those caught cheating by 20-50%. <g>

". . . the gift card prizes . . ." is what I'm sure you meant to say ;)

Though it would give me a chuckle to hear some suspected cheater was mailed a cut-up Amazon card

They've just posted in the Facebooks about the new Late Shift game. I really love the URL as it appears on the Facebooks:

What in holy hell is this for? I assume these "badges" are virtual, like the medals are now, right? And you get one for every damned 1000-point score on a question? And why, why, why, I ask again, would anyone share them? Would this mean that every time someone scored 1000, every in their MyFaceTwit feeds would know about it real time? If I had any social media accounts, I'd get rid of them because of this.

Right. I get that a P+P whore would do so for the P+P's. I don't understand why one would do so without the bribe. (Of course, I realize that P+P's are also worthless - the fact is that people do assign value to them. That said, every time BT gives them away for crap like this, it de-values them, in my opinion.) I guess that they are trying to create buzz on the social media. I just don't understand the compulsion to share every last goddamned bit of every day with everyone you know. And I really don't know why you'd want to share the earth-shattering fact that you just scored 1000 points on a trivia question.

Am I nuts in all this? Do I just not get it? Am I one step away from yelling at kids to get off my lawn?

Are you becoming the East Coast LILJOL...EGADS!!! :)

And to think that you have all those craft brews to keep you happy.

But I agree with you. And by putting the 'share' button right on the front page, BT is just itching for you to push it.

The badges seem really stupid to me. I have played the Facebook game 239 times it says. I have over 2500 various badges in that time. 407 for Creative Jucies, 244 in Globetrotter and so forth. I guess it is a way of proving what you know a lot about or that your really fast and a good guesser.

I'm gonna see if there's a way I could light up your phone like a pinball machine every time I get 1000 points on a question.
Good news for you, my pub is easy to find.
More good news for you, no way in hell 12 people would agree to convict.

Just a guess, but I bet they tie collecting certain badges to P+P rewards; instead of playing specific games like the reward cards.
