A number of times when I look in on the group I notice Google [bot] and Yahoo [bot] signed in as members. What's this all about? Do google and yahoo have carte blanche? |

They aren't actually signed in as members though the names appear in that space. The bots are surfing through recording everything as guests. Dante or phpbb has it set up to show the bots, to warn us that big brother is here. ![]() There are also a lot of players that just read as guests never bothering to sign up. |

Yes, that's exactly why I show them. And yes, Google and Yahoo are free to index. If you are worried about privacy, they aren't the ones to worry about. There are plenty of other search engines that ignore all no-follow and robots conventions. |
