Pretty much a push. If Scott May doesn't break his arm in '75, back to back perfecto seasons seems more likely than not. No way UCLA would have beaten that '75 squad.
And if anyone has any doubts as to the basketball IQ of John Wooden as he was getting older, his retirement should have put them to rest. Look at how he knew the exact moment to get out of the way of the sledgehammer coming in '76.
