Post subject:  The Season - GONE
Well, hells bells. According to an exchange on NTN Buzztime's Facebook page, The Season will not be offered. :roll:

IMO, whomever is making decisions on games and time placements made yet another godawful, horrible, grievous bungle in switching The Season from Friday afternoon/evening to Saturday. Then again, that change might not have been necessary if not for the most godawful, horrible, grievous bungle NTN Buzztime has made in its uneven history...

I enjoyed the game the first year on Friday nights, gave me a reason to set a deadline to get out of the office in time to play The Season and Spotlight. My interest took a serious hit after the Redskins were dragged down to a loss in the NFC final by some sort of weird math that allowed way too many low (perhaps even on purpose?) scores to be averaged in. When it moved to Saturday, I played one time, and decided I didn't miss it.

It was a cool concept but as usual they had no clue what to do with it. Averaging every single score to determine wins and losses was simply ludicrous. When that happens it's better that people don't play, and I don't think that's what BT is looking for.

And then of course switching days, the split, etc.

On a side note I've been curious to hear whether or not QB1 will remain. Doubtful it'll be available on the new tablets so that is concerning long term.

In fairness to buzztime, that decision will help them towards their goal of not being known as "just a trivia company" :P

Well, hell. According to another Facebook exchange, QB1 will be available for two preseason games (Sunday, 8/18, Colts @ Giants, FOX; Sunday, 8/25, Vikings @ 49ers, NBC).

IMO The Season would have been far more enjoyable had NTN Buzztime, in their usual indefinite wisdom, not felt sorry for the many mediocre wannabees that almost certainly would not have been part of their team's average by adding them in, just so they could feel like part of the team. :roll: It seemed more than a lil obvious that the best teams were being deliberately sabotaged by assholes that would add minimal (if any) points to the team average.

Some of us may remember one of those mediocre wannabees, a sniveling, whining crybaby who played as LARRY, who whined about The Concert Pub playing as a team during the first Season. I definitely missed seeing FLARRY show up from Concert Pub last year. :lol:

That said, IMO NTN Buzztime has been pandering to those mediocre wannabees way too damned fucking much, as evidenced by their numerous random draw contests. The times when prizes were earned by superior game play seem to be way too few and far between.

That jackass also said we must have had the answers before the game started, because there was no way that concert pub could be that good. Flarry!!!!

The Season was also an attempt to form larger teams than just who is sitting at a site.

I thought it was good that they were contemplating, and testing the concept.

Moving it to Saturday night was crazy. I had the game turned off on me so they could have another live college football game on screen.
