In the call transcript there were several mentions of payment for premium entertainment. I hope that was just about loading the jukeboxes at BWW via the tablets and not for trivia play.

The payment for premium entertainment could also be for arcade games on the tablets. There was mention of trying to grab share from Megatouch.

Of course there was ordering and paying by the tablets at BWW in the near future.

The number of locations was down to 3100 or so. Almost 700 of those are tablet locations.

There was mention of already switching to a new game development platform called Unity.
I would assume that will be geared toward tablet games and probably won't work for the classic system.

I hope these new revenue generating streams don't come at the expense of good well executed trivia. Berg did say trivia was one of the main pillars of buzztime, hope he means that.

"had" and now it's gone. It was fairly garbled in the voice recognition translation. Also had repeat segments so maybe he took it down to fix that.

I did copy it just in case he decides not to repost it.

It was copyrighted material. I didn't see that until the last post. Said I could copy up to 400 words if I attributed it to the transcriber service and provided a link.

It was a lot more than 400 words, and I was on lunch break, so I just copied it off to my desktop and deleted it.

Until they get rid of the split any talk of popularity, profitability, or that they are a trivia company is nothing more than lip service.

Highlights of the first 25%:

470 BDubs on tablets, 295 Others.

Point of Sale Integration a top priority, working with BDubs and NCR.

They are behind on the rollout, leaving money on the table. Getting tablet users to provide money a key strategy; Buzztime will share it with the sites. They said the initial deployments have been encouraging in that regard.

Switching code to Unity as Bud referenced " switching to a multi-channel game development platform ". Reading between the lines, they are throwing their old code away; took a 600+K writeoff on that in the finance section.

Product development now staffed in teams of trivia, casino and arcade.

I found out that my home site will be switching to tablets in a few months, not too thrilled with this myself. The manager at RTOs said BT gave them the option of getting them for free now, or pay to switch over down the road. Sounds like a push to make the blue boxes obsolete to me. As for paying to play, I will find out more info from RTOs if they have any.

More highlights:

Long term business objectives: grow to 10,000 sites and increase revenue per site.

Fundamentally, the games are the same that they have always been. The product development reorganization and new game development platform has changed that paradigm. The core consumer experiences are something that will begin changing later this year and early next year.

Going to be piloting two new consumer experiences by this year end.

They are piloting BT with a number of chains currently.

Are you sure the voice recognition didn't mean 1000 sites? Are they really down to 3100? If so, we told those numbnuts this would happen..

That is far-fetched as BT continues to make decisions that piss the regular players off. :?

Well they introduced a contrived new system to generate the appearance of increased playership by citing increased registrations. Of course we all know this is first due to removing guest accounts from counting towards team rankings, and then removing guest accounts altogether. So perhaps they have a similar impending change up their sleeve to artificially increase the number of sites.

Then there is the one-time sign up that players do. Then they don't play again. At one of my former sites, they had a great number of them. Of course it's a former site as they took the game out.
