At least SEVEN of the fifteen questions in the just-completed Countdown game were showbiz crap. STOP. That is all... |

Just got home from playing 5 Countdown games this afternoon. In total I have played 13 games of Countdown in the last 4 days (Wednesday, Thursday, and today). It appears question content in Countdown has again become an issue. In the 13 games I have played in the month of February the "entertainment, showbiz, pop culture" type questions appear to have significantly increased again. And whereas we were for the longest time getting one token sports question per game, in the 13 games I have played in the month of February there has not been ONE single sports question. I dont mean one per game......I mean there hasnt been one sports question all week!!! Whats up with that?? Things got so frustrating for me today that I made a question tally for the last 3 games I played today. If you count computer chat room jargon, alcohol drink questions along with the usual movie and music pop-culture crap, two games had NINE questions on these catagories, and one had EIGHT questions on these catagories. I think thats getting a little ridiculous again..... |

Our content team has made slight modifications to ensure that there will be at least one question per game is sports related starting next week. |

Hope there is fresh sports questions (recent or not), not rehash from Sports Trivia games some B-Dubs and non-poker sites has in place of THe |

Can anyone put in a request? I'd love to see at least one etymology question per game. I don't think anyone is asking for a guaranteed sports question every game; just not five in one game or fifteen games in a row without one. (Or a game with four questions about college towns. Or poets. Or elements. Or whatever.) Forcing a sports question into every game won't fix the problem with however the questions are being selected. And it will alienate me and others who don't care a lick about sports trivia and avoid nights that it's on. (By no means am I complaining about the occasional sports question; it's general trivia. But to pick sports as the one thing that's guaranteed every game is just bad.) |

In a perfect world, each game would have at least one question from each of the following categories: sports history geography pop culture literature science words/wordplay arts people Or similar list, and no more than two questions per game from any category. After all, we are talking about a general trivia game. That's what we want, a nice guaranteed general mix. Not a bunch of questions per game on animals(last night), or whatever "theme" happens to be running each day. Thanks for taking the time to communicate with us Jamie! |

Well said, BO. Completely agree. A general trivia game should have consistent general trivia content spread out among several categories, and not concentrating 5 or 6 or 7 questions per game on a certain type of category. I am certainly not advocating x number of sports questions per game by any means. But at the same time Im not sure why we have very consistently 4 - 6 movie questions per game often times, or several pop-music questions each game, at the expense of other general trivia content such as history, geography, general knowledge, sports, etc. All I was saying in my previous post was that if they are going to dominate this game with consistent "show biz, entertainment" type stuff, then don't take away the one token sports question that was consistently included for such as long time. Still not sure why they are so doggedly determined to make this a pop-culture dominated game. In the past the general consensus seems to be they are still chasing a demographic of players who aren't really even overly interested in playing the game. Can it ever be possible that we could come to point where it is a truly general knowledge trivia game that is not dominated by certain repetitive categories or themes? |

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again thank Buzztime for being so responsive the the players over the last several months. I know you have a largely thankless job, Jamie, so thanks! |

You're welcome. I will work with the content team to see if we can get an improved mix of questions in each game. |
