Post subject:  New Buzztime mobile app: Buzztime GO
This afternoon, I received an invitation to try out Buzztime GO on an iOS device. However, while the Buzztime instructions say you need iOS 8.0 or greater to run it,
the program through which you run the beta software (a program called Testflight) requires iOS 13.0 or better, so I can't do it.

Did anyone else get the invite, and if so, are you able to test?

Yes. On-demand, pick a category, 10 questions, countdown-style. Asks if you want to play again at the end of the game. Personal and "global" rankings. No breaks, no commercials. Categories are Pop Culture, TV, Food and Drink, Literature, Movies, Music, Geography, History, Science and Nature, Wild Card, Sports.

It looks like they are beta-testing this in advance of the acquisition by eGames (if that ever happens).

I downloaded and tested it. It appears to be very similar to Jackpot Trivia that is a game that can be played on the tablets at the site. I have played Jackpot Trivia at the sites using a tablet. The only difference is that 'Go" has clues.

I received an invitation, but it came to my laptop, rather than my iPhone. The OS on the iPhone is 13.3, so it should work. Our computer expert is going to try and see if he can shift the invitation to the phone for me. Anybody have any ideas how that can be done?

Open the email on your phone, then go from there.

edit: I realize now that one would need a web mail server, like Gmail. If you do, then opening it on your phone is the way to go.

But if ya don't... Gmail is free, so if you were to open a gmail account, then you could just forward the "BT Go" email to your new gmail address, then proceed as above.

Played a few games. Seemed like another mostly worthless game that would only be of any use if stuck at the airport or some waiting room situation. We want to play with and against others in a team setting, getting the same questions at the same time with rankings for that game not some mushy rankings from completely different sets of questions.

A few will play it if they are bored or have no way to play the standard multi player game. Putting it in a drawer with Jackpot while the real games are being played. Now, if we can just get the games in synch.

Buzztime Go can be installed and it works on Android devices as well. I have played it a few times.
