The old equipment is going extinct--soon. No more programming for it, while no specific date for it, I doubt it will see 2026. Even the not-so-old equipment is going extinct soon, too. If you are at a BYOD location, and you do not have the latest device (a BEH, which looks like a streaming box); you're not playing Showdown or Spotlight until you do. If you have a small box with an antenna sticking out, this means you. Have your place contact sagandeep.singh@egames.com if you need the upgrade. The $149 a month rate will be going away; while there will some short-term discounts; the standard rate will become $199 a month towards the end of the year. Rates were set for service plus tablets: $279/month with 5 tablets; $349/month for ten tablets; up to thirty tablets available., plus equipment deposits. |

Interesting that the some no box bar systems will not get Spotlight and Showdown. I have no idea which one Stained Glass Pub received in Sept. Can you describe this BEH box? Color? Size? We can’t see the device at SGP it’s behind the bar but can ask the bartender to look. A price increase? That doesn’t sound like a good way to gain customers. Did you get an idea if SD and SL will work next week on the app at the box bars? Thanks for reporting on the video meeting Stro. |

Did you get an idea if SD and SL will work next week on the app at the box bars? The two devices look much different. The "old" one is a small silver rectangular box with an antenna attached towards the back. The new one is much bigger, say 5-6 inches wide and long, an inch and a half high, dark blue/black. Take a look at a Roku Ultra box, and that will give you a clue on what it looks like (though bigger). Don't know for sure about the app at the box bars, but I would think not. Something we did not realize until recently is that Buzztime runs quite a few versions of the game, and a big reason for these changes is to get this down to one version, and soon. |

I didn't get the name of the new device right: it's called a BGN, not a BEH. My other comments hold true. |

Does anyone out there actually have one of these BGNs, or do they have to order one? How long is that going to take? They keep referring to this as an "upgrade," does that mean the monthly fee will be upgraded, too? |

We just replaced the Site hub, small box silver box with antenna, at Kaye Schultz Photography (KSP) 2 weeks ago. My wife emailed Mr. Singh right after the Buzztime call, and they said the new BGN boxes were a week or two out on backorder. With the limitations of the site hub, (No Showdown/Spotlight, poker, Jackpot trivia, etc.), we decided to go ahead and move to the BGN. There is a $99 hardware deposit. We are currently paying $116/month for the site hub - no box system. We signed up before the swap to $150/month a couple years back. I'm sure they'll bump us up in price to the $150. I'll post some screenshots or videoclips of gameplay and what it looks like when it comes in. I hope the leaderboards are combined after games and that it goes back to only one player per site in the national leaderboards. |

BUD wrote: Can you describe this BEH box? Color? Size? The new Buzztime device is an Asus Chromebox 5 or 5a. You can see a picture/description of these at https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/mini-pcs/chrome-os-devices/filter?SubSeries=Chromebox. As you'll see, they look much different than the SiteHub. |

Here is a question that I wish I had asked in the video meeting. Will Buzztime be reaching out to its current customers and explaining all of this to them? Or are they hoping that they figure it out on their own? Or that the players might know about it? |

Bars are still going to have figure it out on their own with help of the players. There are no techs that come out, BT hopes there’s a bar staff member or customer that knows a little. Though I think the set up instructions should be easy. |

I have not seen the equivalent yet for these Chromeboxes, but if you've ever set up a streaming box for your TV; it's the same thing physically. I will be on the lookout for instructions. For players, it should be no different than with the SiteHub insofar as playing on your phone/tablet. Those locations getting these new tablets will find it pretty much the same as the older tablets. If you're still playing the old boxes; welcome to the 21st century, you have some adjusting to do. |

Showdown was on the app last night, wow. How was it? worked ok for the entire game? Any timing differences? Scoring bugs? Disconnects? All perfect? We’ll try Spotlight on Friday. |

We now have the Chromebox installed at our location, so we will report on that from this point. As I noted under the Showdown topic, having Showdown showing up at SiteHubs was not deliberate programming. |

The week prior to getting the equipment, we got Countdown instead of Spotlight on Friday, as expected, but we got Showdown with the old equipment on Tuesday. We did get Spotlight with the new stuff last Friday. After that, we are wondering what we'll get next Tuesday. If we don't get Showdown, we won't know if that is a programming error, or a carryover of previous game selection, and the person responsible for the equipment isn't usually around when Showdown comes on. If this is Buzztime Bingo, I'm not so sure I like it ![]() It does appear you need version 1.0.20 of the app for things to work right. |

Has your site returned it's previous equipment? I haven't mailed off our old site hub yet. Maybe they don't fully switch you over until the other equipment is turned back in? |

Honestly don't know. Owner responsible for handling this is at bar early in the day when he's there at all, not usually there at night. Was there a safety deposit on the SiteHub? If so, that's probably is what is withheld until you return it. |
