Post subject:  Washington DC Area July 26
Hi all--

I'll be working in Washington DC at the end of July and I'm hoping to play Showdown on July 26 (my day off). Is BWW-Crystal City still "the place" or have you all moved somewhere else for Tuesdays?

The BWW-Arlington group does not meet every week unless it's in a tournament. In fact, that location has only posted one score since early May. I could drop a note to TTLPKG if you want me to inquire if they are planning on playing on the 26th.

Alternatively, in that area the most consistent regular teams are at the Stained Glass Pub in Elkridge, MD and BWW-Columbia, MD. They meet pretty much every week.

Thanks to TTLPKG and the whole crew who came out to greet us when we went to BWW-Crystal City. We had a great time!

I've been told that the DC crew tells visitors not to call out answers.
If that was the case here, it would explain a lot.
I've wondered how big a gap I could generate in that scenario under a fake handle before they figured it out... :twisted:

They're a competitive lot there in DC, and don't like to take the chance of an "unknown" messing up their scores. I think I played there for several weeks, holding my own as a solo player (usually coming in within the score band of the table but with a different answer mix), before they invited me to join the table and contribute.
