Well, whilst it has been several years since my last visit to The Rose City, the two sites I'd recommend highest would be The Old Barn in SW Portland and Gator's Pub in Tigard. McGillacuddy's is way out to the east past PDX in relation to Central Portland. Home Turf is near Gator's but (IIRC) further south on Pacific Highway/99W; these four seem to show up the most these days. |

I played a local place called George's Corner when I visited. It was a lot of fun when I met up with one of the locals that used to be on the BT Forum. He got a group of locals together and we had a blast. Food was decent and the beer was cheap and the patrons were friendly. It is near the MAX line. However, I wouldn't wander around outside too much at night. |

I missed meeting up with the local player that was on the BT Forum; I visited there before the BT Forum during my periodic working trips to The Rose City, and often met up and played with another player there, who unfortunately passed on during the time of the BT Forum.  I agree with GOGETM'S opinion that one has to watch their back at night. The area was run down before the MAX line was put in; there are a number of seedy motels up and down Interstate Ave., and it doesn't take rocket science to figure out the rest. |
