Well, hell. Based on data from World Almanac 2014, and the most recent estimated number of sites (3200, IIRC), once again San Diego County is The Horribly Site-Poor Backyard, joining the rest of The Horribly Site-Poor Golden State in abject site poverty. :cry: :cry: :cry:

Hells bells. As of today, one of the two Black Angus sites in The Horribly Site-Poor Backyard is now listed as having the tablet Playmakers (El Cajon). :cry: Three other Black Angus sites in The Horribly Site-Poor Golden State are also listed - Lancaster, Lakewood, and Ontario. :(

Also, one more independent operation in The Horribly Site-Poor Backyard is listed - The Draft in Oceanside. :( This site was originally one of the franchise sites of Wings, Pizza & Things, best described as a horrible, half-ass clone of BWW. :roll:

BA Lakewood does NOT have tablets. At least they didn't as of last Friday (June 20).

Well, hell. It may not be much longer, based on my seeing ads for the tablets last Saturday at El Cajon. :(

A couple of Black Angus' managers had told me that it was coming, but one of those removed BT instead.

Well, hell. According to one of the managers at Black Angus Friars Road, the Black Angus chain will be discontinuing NTN Buzztime (again) as of the end of November. :cry:

After further review, this comes as lil surprise. Lack of gameplay had already claimed the Chula Vista store earlier this year. Apparently the tablets could not generate enough gameplay at the four test sites (including El Cajon in The Horribly Site-Poor Backyard) to make continuing NTN Buzztime worthwhile for the Black Angus chain. :(

It would be lil surprise if a couple more independent operators were to discontinue before much longer, for the same reason. Looks like the five hundred pound gorilla has had its impact. :roll:

Doubling the cost for the benefit of using tablets doesn't help either. I know of 2 sites that have let me know that if they are forced to use tablets and the cost increased passed along, theirs will be gone too. One of the sites is considering removing trivia anyway without the increase. I may have to take up a new hobby. It may be golf even though I suck at it.

I heard Black Angus Northridge has already pulled the plug. No word on Burbank yet.
