Wow. I am in total shock (been off the board for a little while) and look what I come back to. As a song says what goes around comes around and karma struck back.

Even if you buy into his line of BS that he was setup by whomever, HE STILL PLED GUILTY TO THE CHARGES. Therefore, no matter what his defense his right now, how he did nothing wrong, how he is a "good Christian boy" to quote the mom; it's all a bunch of crap. You made the decision to cop a plea, now live with the circumstances of the decision. God, I'm glad he's not going to be able to attend Triviapalooza because it would make my skin crawl moreso than it did before.

Chuckles, seems lucky he was OFFERED the plea. Side stepping jail time by following a few rules OR breaking parole to be a SELF-GLORIFYING CRAPSTER (which we all know is MY job) on social networks. Duh?

Besides, we all know that iPhones should only be used to game the BT lag, not tout photos of yourself w/recruits.

In the interview the news man says that Charles didn't know he wasn't allowed to be on social networks. But then when ERIC is talking
he says that Twitter is just like texting. So it seems he knows what he did was wrong. His lawyer is telling him to deny it all, obviously.

All I know is, if I was being accused of downloading child pornography, and I was innocent, I would sell everything I own to be able to pay
someone to get me out of that charge. (he had claimed at the WVBTO bash that he couldn't afford what it was going to cost to prove his
innocence and that it was easier to plead guilty).

Well, I guess he could afford bail ($5000). Court date is May 16th.

I wonder if the folks in and around Ashland who play trivia are going to keep their eyes out for him, and if they spot him in a bar, they will contact the manager and ask that he be a persona non grata

As much as he's been in the news around there, I'm sure he will be recognized. I know when NOLES & I did one of our Hillybilly BT Tours, the folks in Huntington knew of & about him and his original plea. I think one of the players in Huntington was his counselor (I'm sure Joe would remember).

It seems odd that he went from no bail to only $5K.

It's one thing to not play trivia against him in the same bar, but it's another to tell the owner that he shouldn't be welcomed, and if he stays, the other players leave.

I've never had to go through bail/bond (and plan to keep it that way), but isn't there something that the bail is set at one amount, and you pay a percentage of that? Might be low if they don't consider him a flight risk and also that the court date is so close (next week).

Again, I know nothing about this case, nor bail/bond.

I don't know how local restaurants will take it, or if other trivia players such as the people he has played with for the last 9 months will continue to play with him. On Tuesday those people payed a visit for whatever reason but did not sit any where near our group. I found it interesting that "his" team abandoned End Zone and other names that had been playing with him did not play.
As far as the $5000 bail goes, I would seriously doubt he paid that. Either a bail bondsman did or perhaps his brother. If I hear anything locally I will pass it on at some point.

Bondsmen want from 5%-10% of the bail to be bonded out; or property worth the bail amount.

Yeah. I know these things. So $250-$500 is pretty much chump change to get out of jail.

That one reason why B-Dubs Ironton will fall out even off the top 500 w/o "his" medals and their medal count will drop.

I wonder how Ironton will do in the McCarthy Cup.

Seeing that they are a different team, I think they will do themselves proud.

On the other hand, his 'new team' will do sh!t in any game without their little BORG.

I would sit between Elizabeth Bathory and Henry Lee Lucas if they could answer one question per game between them that I didn't know.

This explains why I felt so welcome visiting you at 86th Street.

Bummer. I'd thought it might be my personality or friendship. :(

It's also, to my understanding, a bizarrely low bail amount. I know people who have gotten higher bail numbers for much less. They must either not consider him a risk, or not be taking it very seriously.

I doubt if they consider him much of a flight risk. Eric isn't exactly Richard Kimble and you'd only have to go as far as the nearest Buzztime bar to find him. If he's not there then I'd check the Hostess outlet store.

I can picture him "running" to the Canadian border with an armful of Playmakers, yelling "Will trade badges for anmensty!"

I could see PENGWN meeting him at the border with a getaway Greyhound.
