Did anyone actually like this game? We at BWW in Rochester, NY gave it a unanimous thumbs down tonight. Admittedly, none of our group is a big college football fan.
We're going to see if we can somehow convince the management there to program it out and substitute a Countdown instead.

I liked it...but I'm a sports fanatic. I found it ironic that three or four of the questions were on Vanderbilt and South Carolina who were on the big screen TV at the same time as SITS (Saturdays In The South).

I came in during the game and answered the last few questions. Seemed easy to me, being a college football fan.

Well, without having seen what appears to be yet another godawful, horribly conceived abomination Image, if I have anything to say or do about it, that so-called game will not show where I choose to play. Image

Programmed it out, along with yet another SI Sports repeat game.

I wound up plying it Wdnesday night. Why would anyone think SEC football is interesting to the rest of the nation?

Really? Pretty cool considering it airs on Thursday night! But you didn't play Thursday night, according to your profile you played the replay Saturday afternoon.

But even this sports fan is a bit confused as to why this game would be attractive to the majority of the nation.

2 questions from before 2008
1 question from 2009
2 non time specific questions
2 questions from two weeks ago
8 questions from last week

My greatest fear concerning the advent of time travel isn't that someone might go back and accidentally squish the first creature to walk out of the oceans.
It's that BT will fulfill their recent sports game design trend and finally find a way to ask me questions about sports events a week before they actually happen...

Just wait 'til you see what happened in the Denver/Atlanta game on 9/17. It was pretty hilarious.

More hurtful words from you, Spotes. :) My count had:

4 questions from before 2008 (they were actually all before 1990, one being 1947)
1 question from 2009
3 non-time specific questions
zero questions from two weeks ago
7 questions from last week

That's pretty much how it will break down each week. 7 current, 5 history, and 3 general questions about stadiums, mascots, bands, traditions, etc.
I think that's a decent mix.

Whatever the count, I doubt there is much interest in this game outside the Southeast.

Kentucky bowl (1947)
Terry Beasley (1971)
I forgot about Dale Carter (1989-91)
Be a good egg and remind of the fourth if you would.

Gig 'em & Ole Miss band questions were non time specific.
Forgot the SC railroad question. The endorphins to mask the pain from that question clearly kicked in.

The Les Miles question from 2009.

I thought two of the game score questions were from the weekend before last. But given my willingness to nap halfway through that game, I may indeed have dreamed them.

Will this game be going away after college football season or will you be forced to reduce it to a 7q, 15 minute game? :D

While I've got you here... 8-) (Run, Tommy!Run!)
Did you catch the Six thread about the answer options in the third round of Six varying from bar to bar? Any ideas?

Thanks for actually taking the time to post on here, Tommy.
It's nice to see someone over there actually cares enough to put dingleputzes like me in my place.

P.S. Thanks for keeping the obscure hockey goon questions to a minimum over the years. I know it goes against your better judgment... :P

I thought last night's game was well-written, difficult, and extremely challenging to all old-time STC players but would belong in a pick-the-category second round such as SEC Football Trivia or Surfing Slang (which would you pick?) or the last half of the last round. I actually re-read Sunday's Tallahassee Democrat SEC Roundup and still had a bar score of slightly over 10,000 but still good enough to rank #2 at Applebee's Capital Circle if I believe the rankings. Last night was a fun time thanks to Megan (MaBears) visiting from Chicago and WJSim and JBabe visiting from Ft. Lauderdale to root for their Wake Forest Demon Deacons against Florida State this weekend.

They know what you want more than you do ;)

Edit to TomD: not picking on you personally, I know you're just doing what you're ordered to do. You do a great job, especially consdering the chains they place on you :(

Then why don't they opt out this game and the repeat BWW SI game for me?

Not to mention the Newcastle hour long game @ BWWW that I had to kill on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The fourth older question asked about Vanderbilt's all-time passing leader.
Yes I did catch the Six thread about the third round. You're definitely getting different choices in that round. :)

Right. The Kurt Page question. I edited the question in your reply for you, BTW. Geez... that does feel good. How do you cope with this kind of unmitigated power, Tommy?
Didn't recognize that name and foolishly discounted Vandy as an answer because, much like the Broncos and Bears, I overestimated that hack Jay Cutler...

Gosh... thanks for clearing up the Six issue. :D
I was really more curious about how it's done.
Do rounds from this or other games work under the same functions?
If it's too boring and technical, feel free to PM me if you would as I've done more than enough to anaesthetise innocent bystanders of this thread on my own.
