Was as bad as we thought, didn't have an issue with the questions which were fair IMO, but current events only combined with the mind-numbing format makes it laughable as a premium game.

12 questions from events of this weekend, all questions concerned happenings over the last two weeks I believe.

Paraphrased recap:

1. Who did Alabama defeat 52-0 on Saturday? ARKANSAS
2. Which MLB team was the first to hit 200 HR's this year? NEW YORK YANKEES (clue was “pride of the yankees”, thanks TomD!)
3. Who was recently elected to the Naismith Hall of Fame? RALPH SAMPSON
4. Who won the Ladies British Open this weekend? JIYAI SHIN
5. Which NFL coach won his first ever game yesterday? JOE PHILBIN
6. Notre Dame is joining which conference? ATLANTIC COAST
7. Wil Myers recently won an award in what sport? BASEBALL
8. Billy Gillespie is the basketball coach at what university? TEXAS TECH
9. With his 3284th hit, who did Derek Jeter pass on the all-time hit list? WILLIE MAYS
10. Lewis Hamilton won the Grand Prix of what country last weekend? ITALY
11. Which NFL kicker just set his team's all-time scoring record? JOSH SCOBEE
12. Gabriel Landeskog was elected captain of what NHL team? COLORADO AVALANCHE
13. Which course hosted the BMW Championship? CROOKED STICK
14. Who recently hit 3 HR's against the Texas Rangers? B.J. UPTON
15. Who did Adrian Peterson just pass as the Vikings all-time leading rusher? ROBERT SMITH
16. Who has the WNBA's best record? MINNESOTA LYNX
17. Brad Keselowski just won at what speedway? CHICAGOLAND
18. Who had 510 yards passing yesterday? ELI MANNING
19. Bryce Harper is the first teenager to have 4 hits in a game since? ANDRUW JONES
20. Mick Fanning is a? SURFER
21. Who rushed for 2 TD's in a 21-14 upset of USC? STEPFAN TAYLOR
22. Andy Murray became the first Brit to win a Grand Slam since? FRED PERRY
23. Who is an Atlanta Braves pitcher? KRIS MEDLEN
24. A 53-yard FG won the game for this NFL team yesterday? INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
25. The men's USA soccer team beat who 1-0? JAMAICA
26. Which NCAA football team has won it's first three games? FLORIDA STATE
27. Which horse won the Super Derby in Shreveport? BOURBON COURAGE
28. Which MLB team has two pitchers with 200 K's? DETROIT TIGERS
29. Which boxer just beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.? SERGIO MARTINEZ

Yep, and entirely in the CD format. 5 questions and then a break, 5 questions and then a break. Repeat until Q30 or you fall asleep, whichever comes first.

The game is really for a sports fan who has no life and has to watch 4-5 tv's at once and reads sports news on the net for every single stat avalible..also must watch TVG at a bar that air the horse track channel. How do we know who won a horse race that is not the triple crown or Breeders Cup.

Also BTW did the national rankings aired at your local bar? It didn't at Hooters of Fairview Hgts.

Forgot to mention that, no rankings. Seems to be a national issue. Frustratingly common for new games.

Questions about Willie Mays and Fred Perry?
I'm glad that I didn't play this game or those two would have ruined the whole experience for me.
Everybody worth a piss at sports trivia doesn't give two craps about old-time losers like those two nobodies.
We're much more interested in Bryce Harper's total HBPs this season or who's dating Mark Sanchez.

Insert "Do Not Resuscitate" joke of your choice. If Buzztime is this lazy about creating one new game a year, then I opt to be equally lazy in how I articulate my disdain.

Pace was much too slow and boring. I liked Sports IQ due to its unique format and content. Both of which are gone so now I have Monday nights back from trivia.

get this though spotes, the Fred Perry Q, answer 4 was Fred Stolle, answer 5 was Fred Perry, and the final clue was "Fred Flintstone"...a tale of two freds!

I didn't play even to see what it was, as I was on siq time and arrived 2/3s the way through the game. steve, turbo & mkrchd managed a ~26.6k avg though

I played and was not impressed. Overall an uninspiring, unenjoyable, and rather boring game. I still dont understand the concept of a sports trivia game based entirely on current events and no history. It just doesnt make any sense. I wont be playing this game.

My score was 24680. Missed:

NYY 200 HRS - 222 Wil Myers - 872 Josh Scobee - 412
Colorado Avs Capt - 161 Stephan Taylor - 173 Indianapolis Colts - 725
Bourban Courage - 94 Detroit Tigers 200 strikeouts - 198 Panther/Saints - 847

Got all the remainders for 1000.

I do have a suggestion. Im sure there are myriad reasons why this wont work, but will let 'er fly anyway and see if there any follow up comments or suggestions. How about if all the serious sports trivialists who have access to Channel B or Channel 2 or whatever the hell its called playthe BT Sports Trivia game for an hour (2 games) from 600 - 700 Central time instead of the Pulse? Aggregate score wins. If we get over a thousand players (how likely?) there will be medals awarded. This could accomplish 2 things: 1 - Still play competitive sports trivia with decent questions and historical context, and 2 - If enough players are able to and can do this it will show BT how we feel about this stupid new game and possibly get a corporate reversal? The site I am playing at now has staff that actually knows how to get the other channel on and wil do it. We dont have to worry about Poker players there so thats not a problem. I know it isnt possible for a lot of sites, but just a thought to throw out there and see where it goes. I just know I am not going to subject myself to this travesty of a game every Monday night. I will go back to playing SIX instead.

Sounds like I'm glad I couldn't play last night. HUTCH texted me about the patheticness of the game last night. I'm up for playing an hour of BT Sports Trivia...so count me in if we can get enough interest! :D

The Pulse didn't air at the Mezzanine. It wasn't deselected or anything; we just got normal countdown.

Based on the remarks so far, it doesn't sound like I missed much.

I watched the Pulse without playing it. Sports IQ was a much better game. When Smartest Bar ends, I will have absolutely no reason to play trivia on Monday nights.

I have played Buzztime almost every single Monday night for about 6 years. I have absolutely no desire to play The Pulse again, as it was exactly what I expected. It was boring, uninteresting, unoriginal, and had just enough silly questions to make it at times frustrating. We have gone from the most unique premium game Buzztime had to offer to the least. Boycott attempts and a change in playership will not matter; the game takes about 5% the effort to write as Sports IQ, and that is the one and only thing that matters to Buzztime.

Glad to have Monday nights free now!

Now all you Americans get to enjoy the thrilling action-packed pace introduced with the Xtreme Countdown/Canada Eh? game

I'm so sorry

280 registered players in the west feed out of 1936 total. 14.5%. Almost exactly the same percentage as The Season airing at the same time on Saturday.

Anyone interested in doing this? Or should I just enjoy my Monday night...

IMO, it's just not feasible to get the majority of the top players and teams to do this. And besides, I believe the nightly premium game should never be programmed out regardless of content. I remember how I felt once when I was out of town and the customers in this hick bar always played repeat STC on Thursday night instead of Six.

No worries Bo...I wouldn't mess with the nightly premium game...leaving The Pulse on the first channel and programming out THE on the second channel...good luck to you, STATS, HUTCH, and everyone else playing The Pulse...I think I'll go see my better half at her bar. :D Hard to believe I'm actually gonna stay away from a Sports Trivia game. :o

I kinda doubt I'll play as well, quite sad that it's come to this for serious Monday night players.

I'll be interested to see if there's a significant drop off from last week's participation numbers. I think those that go out to play QB1 will still play The Pulse. I know you're into the stats, so you probably already are doing this...but are you comparing The Pulse with SIQ participation numbers?
