Okay, time for a visual clue...

His first name is James, and he is the big one of the three brothers. (There are no pictures of his two brothers, also named James, that I am aware of.) Here it is:

Holmes describes him as "the Napoleon of Crime".

p.s. After this clue, I doubt anyone will need any more clues.

Are you talking about Moriarty?

We have a winner...!!! :D

Yes, they would be the Moriarty brothers.

The evil villain of the brothers was a professor. One was a station master. The last one was a colonel in the British army. Yep, Doyle gave all three of them the first name of "James". (Perhaps Doyle wrote some of his stuff late at night, while downing too many pints of ale.)

Big Frank, you're up man. The next question is yours. :D

Where is FrankC...? He won, and it was posted here. I even sent him a private message congratulating him for his great winning answer. However, Frank hasn't put his trivia question up here for a few days. With the holiday season going on, I can understand that FrankC probably has more important things going on in his life right now than the "Trivia Chain" on the "ScaRatings". I'm sending Frank another private message tonight, telling him that I will give him another day to post the next trivia question on this thread, and if he doesn't, I'll ask another one, because only FrankC got the last one.

p.s. If it turns out that I have to ask another trivia question, because FrankC remains asleep at the switch, I promise you all that it will be pretty darn easy. :D

I hate to do this, but I think time has run out on FrankC to ask his trivia question. So to get this thread moving ahead again, I'll throw another one up here. Here goes:

On what U.S. paper currency can you read the names of 26 states?

(I promised you all an easy one.)

p.s. Extra credit for anyone, who can name all 26 states. (However, if you can, everyone will know that you Googled the answer.)

p.p.s. In the last private message I sent to FrankC, I told him if I had to put a trivia question up here, because he was taking too long, that I would let him take my place the next time I won. Sadly, that might be a long time.

Five.

Presuming I am correct... Who is the only pitcher in MLB history to have two career grand slams & to have done it in the same game?

ICEMAN is indeed correct. On the back of the $5.00 bill is the Lincoln Memorial. In very small print you can read the names of 26 states that are engraved on the memorial in the portion of the building between the roof and the opening below. If you have extremely good eyesight and good lighting you might be able to see them without the aid of a magnifying glass. Most of us need a magnifying glass.

Here's what a few of them look like:

FrankC is on the "ScaRatings" as I type. I just sent him a private message that I have deferred to him to pose the next question on this thread, as I promised. However, I have given him only a 24 hour window to post it.

Come on Frank, get a question up here... :D

Aren't the states on the Memorial in chronological order based on the date they joined the US?
I should think quite a few folks might be able to scope this one out, Cloudy.
You know how people love to memorize silly stuff hoping against hope that it comes in handy later.
You won't catch ME doing that kind of nonsense...

OK, in order, they are Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia...
just kidding

Too easy eh? Figgered as much.

Unless Frank should somehow stumble in... Cloudy is up.

I've given FrankC much more than the 24 hours that I gave him to ask the next question on this thread, so I'll toss a very easy one out there to get this thread moving along again.

How many steps did Holmes have to climb to get to his lodgings at 221-B Baker Street?

(If you don't know the answer off of the top of your head, feel free to Google it.)

p.s. A belated happy New Year to everyone. :D

Here's a clue...

It was more than 10 and less than 20.

(This is NOT a trick question, and please feel free to Google the answer.)

I'm going with the 7% solution.

Yeah, I know, that makes no sense. 8-)

Another clue...

It's an odd number, and my birthday. (Not the year or the month. It's the day of the month.)

Here is the answer for those of you, who haven't figured it out now, and who are too lazy to Google it:

I talked to Cloudy about this question so he is barred from answering per below.

I'm a bit late with this question but better late than never. What was the first structure named in honor of John F. Kennedy, about two or three weeks after his assassination.

Wait rules:

24 hours then you can Google
48 hours then Cloudy can answer
72 hours then I will post a clue

Time starts 8:45pm EST

Unfair...! I'm not originally a Kentuckian, and I didn't move to Louisville until 1974. (That's Long after the naming of something in honor of John F. Kennedy in Louisville occured.) At the time I was a Senior at Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY. Unfair again...! Why am I the only Louisville person on the "ScaRatings" to be subject to this arbitrary restriction, when most of the others lived here when it happened...?

Additionally, not only did you NOT tell me the answer, you didn't even tell me the question that you were going to ask, when you called me tonight.

I've got a really good GUESS, but I will abide by your unfair restriction as to when I can post it. :( However, in the unlikely event that nobody gets the answer before my time in the penalty box runs out, I'm pretty darn sure that you won't have post any clues on this one after 72 hours go by.

So, what is Cloudy's answer. I Googled it too, and I think I have the answer (a bridge) but I've never been to Louisville... His 48-hour major penalty has expired (and with no power play goals...)

Zog, you are correct. The Kennedy Bridge, which is part of I-65 and links Louisville with Jeffersonville Indiana, was name in honor of President Kennedy four days after he was assassinated.

Hell, I would have been wrong anyway. My guess was going to be "The Kennedy Car Wash" at the corner of 1st and 6th streets in Old Louisville.

Okay, I can't believe I got credit for the answer to that one, especially as it was not even intended as an answer. Otherwise I would have described the bridge, provided the name, that it was part of I-65, etc. Oh, and the first sentence in my last post should have ended with a question mark. But I did want to know what Cloudy's answer was, figuring it would be the right one as he has the advantage of living in the area...

I expect people to get the following question without Googling, but if you have to Google, please wait 24 hours before answering. After 48 hours, if there is no correct answer, I may give it to the "best" answer, but more likely will just throw the question out:

Name the only quarterback to win Super Bowl MVP without throwing a touchdown pass.

-- RWM
