Great question, ZOG. I have no idea, and I will have to Google it to come up with an answer.

p.s. I knew the answer to YODA's question the second I read it, and told him the answer over the phone. However, I hung back in keeping with the restrictions he placed on me. I should add that 1st and 6th streets in Old Louisville run parallel to each other, so they have no intersections. Also, Old Louisville is a historic preservation area, and NO car washes are allowed there, even if they are named after President Kennedy. I was joking. :D

Oh Hell, why not make a guess. How about Bart Starr, because he had two great running backs with Louisville's Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor in the backfield, and called the plays himself.

Sorry, CLOUDY. Starr had at least one TD pass in SBI, the one made by a drunk Max McGee of a pass thrown behind him.

My guess - Joe Namath, if only because The Jets scored only one TD, which I'm guessing was a running TD by Matt Snell. Image

Joe Namath is the correct answer. We now await your question. :)

Well, hell. Since we're on Super Bowls, here's an easy one... Image

Which Super Bowl team was the only one to score their points on other than offense or defense?

That would be SB35 where Baltimore beat the NY Giants 34-7, the G men scored on a kickoff return. Unfortunately for them the Ravens turned right around and ran their kickoff back for a TD.

But the best is the reason I remember this so vividly, I was at the game. All on BT's dime courtesy of winning QB1 player of the year! The next year they sent me to the Pro Bowl instead. Good times.

OK, in the spirit of Cloudy I'm going to ask a riddle even though Spotes will probably never talk to me again. Since it has no serious answer, I'll reveal the answer in no more than 48 hours although I'd like to see some attempts.

The island of Oahu has 3 interstate highways, the H1, H2 and H3. The H1 runs east-west, has an HOV lane, but no tunnels. The H2 runs north-south, has an HOV lane, but no tunnels. The H3 runs northeast-southwest, does not have an HOV lane, but it has two tunnels.

So why does the H3 not have an HOV lane? (I figured out why this is after tooling around the island one afternoon)

I'll make two guesses, as one who has never been to Hawai'i.

(1) H3 goes through a less developed part of Oahu, so there is less need for an HOV lane as the highway has less traffic volume.

(2) H3 goes through a mountain range (hence the tunnels) and the road grade would seriously slow down certain vehicles, such as buses, and would actually impede traffic if they used an HOV lane. (I would guess then that the hillier parts of H3 would have a slow-vehicle lane for buses and large trucks...)

That, anyway, is my initial guess.

Nope.

And as a hint, your answers are much too serious.

I'm guessing that ZOG is probably right. My WAG would have been that the tunnels on H3 were probably blasted out long before the idea of a HOV lane came along. To blast the existing tunnels so they would be wide enough to accomodate a HOV lane would have possed two problems. They are the extreme cost to do it, and having to close down H3 while the blasting was going on.

Guys, did you not see my statement saying there was no serious answer? This is a humorous riddle, stop thinking so literally and seriously and use some imagination.

Got a question... You have provided four basic bits of information to consider. They would be:

1- Three highways: H1, H2, and H3.

2- Three different directions they run in.

3- Only H3 has any tunnels, and has two.

4- H3 is the only one to not have a HOV lane.

My question is, is all of this information needed to figure out the answer, or is some of it uneccessary, and only provided to distract us while we try to come up with an answer? :?

Holy shit, I think I'd rather be playing 100% pop culture trivia at a box lag BWW during a pay per view MMA match.

The directions do not matter in order to solve the riddle.

Thanks BO.

I've got another question. Is there a pun or play on words involved in the answer to your humorous riddle?

My guess is not enough traffic to need an HOV lane.

My second guess is you posed this question to drive cloudy insane.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Yes there is.

I think the accurate statement would be "more insane". :D

I'm going to throw out the guess of H3 being a two-lane highway, which divides into parallel tunnels. Can't really have HOV lanes on one-lane carriageways, at least not without ridiculous redundancy

Is this a serious answer? Did you not read what I said about serious answers?

Does anybody have a sense of humor here? If not, this is why I don't attend non-bashes.

Last hree tries then I give up.

Either no one knew how to properly use them, the lack of traffic volume didnt need one, no one goes fast enough in Hawaii to need it

These are serious answers, how many times to I have to say serious answers aren't the answer? Therefore wrong, wrong, and wrong.

However, since you have given the only imaginative answer thus far, you are currently at the top of the list to get to ask the next question. This could change.

So that people would know what road they were on.

To elaborate,

If you are going east west and the lane is there, you are on H1. If not then H3
If you are going north south and the lane is there, you are on H2. If not then H3
