What monastic state originated in Palestine in 1190, but moved its center to eastern Europe in 1211. Slowly, over time, it grew. In 1525, it was dissolved with the coming of the Protestant Reformation and became Prussia. What powerful medieval state was this?

(Of course, BO knows this)

I cheated again, and know the answer, but I'll hang back and let someone, who knows it off the top of their head have a shot at it. However, if someone else get's it by going to Google, I say that I win.

I guess if someone Googles the answer, and doesn't admit it, I shouldn't give a toot.

Yeah, well, this one was so easy you should not have had to google it. Most of the clues were built into the question.

Full disclosure... I did have to research the dates for this one.

Was it the Teutonic Knights?

Yep, that's another name for the Teutonic Order, formally called the "Fraternal House of the Hospitalers of Saint Mary of the Teutons in Jerusalem".

You're next Frank.

Well, since Frank seems to have fallen asleep, I'll throw out another quick easy one...

What common household item was originally formulated to provide corrosion resistance for Atlas nuclear missiles?

That didn't take too long. 8-) Yep, 'water displacement formula #40'. The first 39 formulas didn't make the cut.

Rock on, lildude.

Well, hell, what a pleasant surprise. :o Since we're in the second week of SB hype , how about another SB question...

Recalling one of my favorite SBs, SB XXIX, in which The San Francisco 49ers mercilessly crushed those hapless, hopeless san diego chargers... Image

Jerry Rice and Ricky Watters both scored 3 TDs in SB XXIX. Who was the other 49er to score a touchdown?

Well hell, I was waiting & waiting for another ardent Niners fan to chime in but it would seem none are present.

If I'm not mistaken, the answer would be William Floyd.

Well, hell. Apparently there aren't any other ardent San Francisco 49ers fans here. :(

Take it away, ICEMAN. Image

Well, since the Stupor Bowl is now over it is time to post a quick question...

If you were to pick up some rocks that went by the names Barnacle Bill, Yogi, Pop-Tart, Shark, Half Dome, Moe, Stimpy, and Cabbage Patch, where would you be?

I'm pretty sure Half Dome is in Yosemite NP. So that is my first guess.

If you are able to pick up Half Dome then I have some kryptonite for you Mr. Kent. Yosemite is not the answer I'm looking for.

I seem to remember "Barnacle Bill" being one of the names they gave to a rock on Mars, so that's my guess.

Two of the biggest female stars in the early Hollywood era were Lillian Gish and Bette Davis. In what feature film (and when) did they first star with each other?

Well, it's been more than 24 hours now, so I'll ask another--I thought SPOTES might have jumped on this, but it is not an easy one to guess. The movie was "The Whales of August" in 1987, Gish's final movie, more than 75 years after her first role, and more than 55 year's after Davis's debut.

Here's an quicker one, then: Which name comes next in this list?

George Washington
George Washington
John Adams
Thomas Jefferson
James Monroe
Martin Van Buren

Millard Fillmore. Followed by Chester Arthur and Dwight Eisenhower.

Name three six-letter words whose letters, all of them distinct, are in alphabetical order. No clues, as these are commonly-used English words.
