^I don't agree with much of that list at all, but #2 is a classic.

My favorite episode is The One With The Embryos

Several good Topix to look forward to here. In fact, I might even give a Friday Topix a go, as I've seen my share of comics. :)

I had thought that the Canada-related Topix would be on the 1st rather than on the 15th.

There was a day in time when I could kick butt at US Astronauts and Comic Strips. Baseball movies....only like one....League of their own. Famous Paintings, only if they do a (travel trivia game) thing and show the picture first. I've been lost since 1983, so won't go there, and the only best friends I have play trivia. Hard Liquor......Bring On the Bar Keeps

Yoda...........who has a suggestionn for next year's July Topix

Like the looks of Lost Trivia and Baseball movies. The rest are decent.

Anything would be better than last nights "zoology". That was brutal.

Agree on the zoology game. Managed to break 10K some how. The first 5 questions...EGADS!!!

Baseball movies will be my best bet to get a decent score, especially if the questions incluce old b & w bio pictures. (Some are hysterical for the lack of athleticism by the lead actors, particularly Anthony Perkins as Jimmy Piersall in "Fear Strikes Out". DeNiro as a catcher in "Bang The Drum Slowly" is another one.).

Thumbs up for Canadian Prime Ministers and Hard Liquor

There is some overlap those two categories ;). The first Prime Minister, Sir John A MacDonald had an ...umm.. fondness for alcohol. If even half of the stories about him are true

Famous paintings is OK too even though I will find it tough..I had fun with the contemporary art game that ran last year - even though I know little on the subject

Baseball Movies is intriguing enough I may actually play on a Friday

For me, four games that interest me is a good month worth of Topix.

Hells bells, kinda sorta nice to know I wasn't alone on those first five. Image At least you got to 10K. Image

Ah, if ever there was a hysterical miscasting in a baseball movie, William Bendix as Babe Ruth has to be in the conversation. Image

All but the first and last episodes start with "The One..."

The last episode is simply titled "The Last One"

The first episode is officially titled "Pilot," although many fans refer to it as "The Pilot"

I am looking forward to the Baseball movie Topix. Well over 100 of them have been made since the 1930s and I have seen many of them. What worries me is that BT might have many questions about Bull Durham, a movie I did not care for.

I plan to try the Canadian Prime Minister game on Thursday.

Promises to be a most brutal game. After all, most Canadians can't even name 15 Prime Ministers, much less know anything them. Imagine how those south of the border (or in Detroit's case, north of the border) will fare

May set all-time low bar averages for Topix.

Maybe, but I'll still give it a go. :)

I plan to run to Chipotle after Immortal words and hopefully make it back in time for Six.

Well, this "south of the border" player did okay but not great. There were three questions that I misplayed, especially question #2. The question showed "Mackenzie" but for some reason my brain registered "MacDonald". So I got 236 points (or thereabouts), knowing all along that Mackenzie was of the Liberal Party. But sometimes it's not what you know, it's what button your finger pressed.

Congratulations to Boccavino's of Calgary for a near-perfect bar score. But the fact that my puny score was higher than the #2 bar average score attests to this being a rough game for most.

While being well below the Calgary collective too I didn't do that badly for a south of the borderite either (although technically I used to live in Lewiston NY which is also north of the border). Of course I have the advantage of knowing a bit of old Empire/Commonwealth/Dominion history, so my lapses were mostly on the newer-but-not-current end of the spectrum where I know precious little - or bugger all to be honest (didn't Diefenbaker make those old racing cars or something?)

Congrats on having your name up in lights on the board last night. I won't mention how many points you beat me by..lets just say it was substantial. RVM beat my score as well.

Danny K's deserves a special mention for finishing in 2nd place even though they are way down in California.

Overall the game was fair but a little heavy on questions along the lines of:

"Who was the youngest Prime Minister? Who had the shortest term in office? (I thought it was John Turner), Who was the first Canadian-born prime minister? etc.

I'm surprised they didn't ask some of the more notable historical events:
Who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership during the Suez Crisis? Who invoked the War Measures Act during a terrorist insurrection in 1970?
Who signed the "Free Trade" agreement with the United States or the NAFTA agreement with the US and Mexico?

Not one question about Trudeau or Chretien is a bit of a surprise...since they were two of the longest serving 20th century prime ministers I thought they would have been natural choices.

I'm thankful they didn't include any of the following even though one question of this ilk would have added a little variety:

Which Prime Minister held seances to consult with his dead mother on policy issues?
Which PM used the camel clutch to take out a protester who evaded security?
Which PM's wife allegedly had a tryst with Mick Jagger?
Who sang a duet with Ronald Reagan on St Patricks Day 1985?

I'm thankful there were no "[This Prime Minister] represented the riding of:" or obscure First Lady questions, myself

Definitely a team effort last night. It's nice to have that voice of assent when you're not 100% sure of a correct answer

My favourite question was the one about what position John Thompson held before his PM days. Being a money collector, identifying who is on our $100 was a slam dunk, too - despite how long it's been since I've had one of those in my wallet :?

I precalled 'Georgetown head basketball coach' and was disappointed when that wasn't a choice.
