I was just wondering how many of y'all know your site's password to change out of games (like I do for the early QB1 game on Sunday) or any other games.

I've been at sites that are cluelesss about the password or have forgotten them. Just trying to get a feel about how much management has a handle on things where y'all play.

Just the 1:00 clock game, eastern. And with management permission.

I leave everything else, including the Pick 'em Challenge, in place.

If someone wanted to play QB1, I would leave it in. As I've stated in another post, nobody has finished a QB1 game in the 4 years I've been at my site.

Oh I know, just thought it was a perfect opportunity to use your catchphrase against you.

To answer your initial question, the majority of sites have nobody with the ability to program different games. Thankfully, I can program any site out there. When I was traveling this came in extremely handy.

I have the same ability to get into management functions, also. And you are absolutely right about it coming in handy when playing at away sites.

This was kind of why I asked the question. During the Pick 'em game last Wednesday, I got a call from someone that was playing away from their site, and the management there didn't know how to change the game. Thus, they called me and got things arranged to their liking...EGADS!!!

I've programmed out Trendalicious the past two weeks (at two different bars) in favor of real trivia instead (Countdown).

Everyone playing at these two bars was glad that I did

Thankfully, most places that I've played at have a default password.

I only change about 1 game a year.

Unfortunately, the widespread sharing of varying passwords is somewhat troubling, insofar as traveling players will come in and turn off games occasionally. A few weeks ago I heard, "Well, no one wants to play that!" in regards to a game that was programmed out, when, in fact, the entire bar played it the week before. Fortunately, the person put it back after I bitched.

My "once a year" isn't much of an understatement. I've never done it as a visitor.

You have the great fortune of playing at a site with other players. I'm stuck with a few kids being babysat by the PM every now and then. Since they are underage, I do not recognize their vote on any game.

FWIW--I usually ask management before I make any change. They let me do it because it's one less thing that they have to do, and they acknowledge that I play there close to 300 days a year. That equates to many a keg of beer that I could have consumed elsewhere, if not for BT.

And let's face it, some places don't care about BT and see it as a pain, At those sites, I can sometimes wheedle a free beer out of them by using the management functions to switch out of (earmuffs, BO) QB1 on a Sunday or, back in the day, (earmuffs, BUD) RaceDay.

I would never change it if there was someone who wanted to play it.

I enjoyed playing the game when I played it in Winchester with a group of folks. It made watching the races more interesting, knowing that there would probably be a question or two about the previous week's event.

In fact, I programmed RaceDay INTO the schedule when I first moved back to WV, but if anyone happened to be playing trivia, they would switch to THe instead of playing RD.

As it is now, I would have to program it back into the schedule. And with the way Denny drove this year, I've had no interest in NASCAR...EGADS!!!

There was a guy who used to play as BEAR at Old Chicago in Westminster, CO that would terminate any game he was losing.

I'd rather have traveling players mess with the schedule than not be able to play at all.
