It seems to me that Scaratings has transitioned more into a forum for a group of friends who live all around the country to interact in a fun, social setting, and it just so happens that everyone here also plays Buzztime trivia and occasionally discusses that. Although that's not necessarily a bad thing, does anybody think a few changes could attract more people to the forum and make it much more about discussing Buzztime and trivia?

Sony recently got rid of their official Jeopardy forum, and now an informal one exists where viewers discuss every single episode in thorough detail. A similar thing should exist for Buzztime. I feel like every single premium game should have a discussion thread the next morning where nearly everyone who played talks about what they missed, what questions they thought were bad, who on the team made impressive calls, etc. Instead, 98% of posts are in the Free For All section, and the only regular trivia related posts are on the topics for Playback, and people sharing alternate category round Showdown questions not featured in BLZBUB's recaps.

Maybe we could make the forum more Buzztime related, change the domain, get more people to come here and actually discuss the games.

I don't disagree with your point but lately their hasn't been much worth posting about about happenings on the Buzztime network..it is the same old, same old.

Personally i'd rather glad that people here have stopped flogging the same old dead horses repeatedly

I'm in favor of this too, and promise to try to post a message or two after playing Buzztime, but I do have two problems

1) I don't play often. Due to marraige/kids/finances/etc/etc/etc, I play at best one night per week. Sometimes Friday, sometimes Saturday. Still, when I do, I will post comments about what I remember
2) I have poor memory, and that's even when sober. Sounds strange for someone who loves trivia to have bad memory, but I find it hard to remember questions the next day

You posted this in the wrong place, only 10% of the board will see it since it's not in Free-for-All.

The issue is lack of people first, then lack of focus on trivial matters second. We had great discussions on the BT board because we had thousands of players checking in. And the J! board has many more members than Scaratings, therefore the good discussions of how stupid contestants are at wagering. If every member participated we could have some decent game discussions, but not like we used to.

And there is still plenty going on, most just don't choose to discuss it apparently. And if the same old problems continue to exist, I for one will continue to beat that horse. Should we just roll over and accept crappy product?

What I cannot understand is why people would join a buzztime trivia message board and never discuss trivia. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, just saying I don't understand. And I don't want to.

What should happen is that the first person to check in here after playing a premium game should start the thread on that night's game. Luckily we have had some decent discussions on the Monday sports game. Very rare we have any discussion at all on the Six and Spotlight games.

Interesting. While I agree in spirit, my contributions to the board have diminished highly.

I hardly play at all anymore since I moved to Atlanta, as there is a paucity of players.

And as no one plays the premium games, if I do venture out, I leave by 8:30and don't play them.

So, I really have hardly anything to say, and have refrained from politics or sports or whatever as I felt this should primarily be about BT trivia.

I am not married to the domain name, though I don't know what would be involved in trying to port the site to a new one.

If the intent of the OP is to get more game related threads, the structure is certainly in place. Seems like the action to take is to try to go out and get more players to join this group. As it now is, though, based only on total members (and, of course, not necessarily active members), ScaRatings has become more...er, um...exclusive than BadBart. Image

I hope the intent was not to discourage (or possibly even eliminate) the off topic threads, unless otherwise determined necessary by the moderators as with politics. I would have a major problem if we were required to discuss only NTN Buzztime topics here. Image

I couldn't agree more with Jethro. There should be more emphasis on the games not someone's favorite color of underwear.

Not saying get rid of free for all but come on, why all the BS on there?

I tried to ask one "free for aller" about actual games he's played recently and got his usual pole up his &$$ response.

New members may be a help, so renaming to include the name Buzztime should be considered, couldn't hurt.

For my part I will try to talk about Wed SIX each and every Thur. We have had some regular posts about the 2 Wed SIX tourneys. Also Playback, Spotlight & The Season when played. (Hardtimes #2 in the Season for the 3rd or 4th time last week, tough to beat the C Pub)

People still wear underwear? I haven't in years, makes laundry much easier.

Now what were we talking about here? :D

Thing is, we need more members to facilitate game discussion, but this is a time suck for Scar and Dante, and they probably wouldn't want to take the additional time to approve all the new members.

About the only premium game I ever play anymore is SIQ, although I have done The Season 6 or 7 times. After The Season runs its coourse I hope to get out more on a Wed or Thurs to play SIX.

I enjoy getting to work on Tuesday morning to check and see if anyone has posted anything about SIQ. I enjoy bantering about the results of the game and seeing who did what and what players thought about certain questions, etc. Have actually started several threads myself over the past year or so. It has never seemed like too many sports players ever bother to talk aobut the games. BO, Spotes, Lewser and a few others will post fairly regularly but never has seemed that all that many others do. I just assumed most of the sports players are kind of a quiet bunch.

I for one would welcome an increase in actual trivia talk on Scaratings............. SIQ, Season, any of the other ones. I always read the Showdown, SIX, and Playback threads even though I never play those games. As I said hopefully I will be able to get in a few games of SIX regularly starting in Jauary or so. Since we lost the BT Forums I rely on this site for Buzztime and trivia information. Certainly I dont mind the "Free for ALL' chatter, but I enjoy trivia discussion quite a bit more
