I was told that the new CEO is more dedicated to getting players' opinions than in the past. As I understand it, the objective is to have a triangle effect, with the subscribing sites on a side and the players on another. My reply was that, speaking for maybe a few players, the perception is that the present situation is more like a totem pole, with the players at the bottom.

That's a start, hopefully the opinions they choose are those players with some history and a clue. Not silly polls over the network that achieve nothing because the data is bad.

They have food at BWW's??? :D

Nor do they have trivia at many of the BWW's nowadays. Went to a different one for a fantasy football draft last Tuesday and couldn't log in because they weren't connected to the buzztime network. Asked a manager about it, he came back saying they had been working on it for a day and a half and it'd be fixed the next day. Go home afterwards, check buzztime and see that it hadn't reported out since August 20, 3 whole weeks.

A friend went back this week and it still isn't reporting out nor are there any new games.

I don't know why we bother keeping BWW's as our home location. The cheap wings on Tuesday are cheaper everywhere else, happy hour specials are what you'd typically see everywhere else as a normal price.

As for The Season it was incredibly easy. If my interest in sports hadn't waned over the past few years it would have been a near perfect game as my only wrong answers were pertaining to the last 2 seasons.

Buffalo Wild Wings are variable in how well they support trivia. Ours does a nice job, but I went to the Kalamazoo BWW this Summer and they had no TV's on trivia in the bar area and only one or two in the restaurant area. Generally, my experience has been that they do better at having the system working and TV's on it than most independent locations.

All sites experience problems from time to time. Most managers don't have a clue about Buzztime and think because it is on screen that it's working. Many times Buzztime isn't aware of the problem. My experience is that involved active players who call Buzztime customer support whenever they encounter a problem keeps things working more smoothly. Many times having Buzztime customer support call the site manager to reboot the modem/router/server gets it done. 888-752-9686 and follow the prompts for support.

They need to change how they score the game. They shouldn't take more than the top 20 scores on each team to calculate the average. Not only are you getting scores of a lot of players who don't play a full game, but it provides an incentive to log onto extra boxes as the opposing team and intentionally miss all of the answers.

LeBron played in Houston last night. Funny. I'll make sure that Bud Adams plays a few boxes in the upcoming match ups. All in good fun of course.

It's looking like it's gonna be a GB-HOU Season Super Bowl. Both Undefeated in "Season" play so far.

Played for the first time tonight, game has potential, implementation is poor however. Not a friday game and no reason to try to combine NFL and random topics throughout the game. As already stated, not showing the score on the PM during the question is silly, but at no time is the score for the previous question shown on the leaderboard.

I saw individual rankings but no location scores, is this typical? Also, why are the individual scores shown like QB1 scores? More than one score from a location. NTN tried this 15 years ago for 1-2 months and quickly reverted after a few locations would clog the individual boards every game.

It was fine, but I see little reason to try it again. I wonder if BT will ever seek player input when it comes to designing (or redesigning) games?

For whatever reason(s), location scores are not shown until the following morning.

If they do it will likely not be from us old and grumpy players. God forbid that they should ever listen to Larry Foster.

Guess I'll have to wait until morning to see how poorly I did. I think I missed ~85% of the non-football questions. All I could think of on the baby head percentage of body weight question was the kid in Jerry McGuire.

They've just gotten away from so many little details that are important. Like scores after every question and location ranking after every game. It's a competition, why play if you can't see how you fared? And we all know how bad the individual ranks are at game's end.

A new problem popped up last night in the Season at Hardtimes Germantown MD.

We had about 16 boxes running and at the end of the 3rd quarter the scoreboard showed us with 11 of the top 20 scores, heading for an easy #1 bar ranking and IAUTAH for an individual win.

On about question 34 all boxes stop responding, the questions kept coming, we nailed all of them including the final, but nothing was showing on the boxes and the scores shown weren't increasing. :?

Sure enough when the scoreboard comes up no one from Hardtimes is listed. Today the BT site shows no scores for Hardtimes for The Season but all the games before and after are shown. It's like we didn't play at all.

WTF? I guess since this is an instantly scored game BT does not gather scores from the computer at a later time as is done with all other games. It seems we lost internet connectivity for a few minutes but it was restored before the rankings came up.

So MEGUMI and Runyuns gets the bar win instead of us. No big deal because the Redskins still got the win. I'm guessing our scores did count for the first 3 quarters then 5 minutes of lost connectivity wiped us off the face of the earth unlike any other game.

Now this does seem a little suspicious doesn't it? The top 2 bars both get a sudden, short, fatal disconnect?

The conspiracy panel would say a Tampa bar was up to a bit of internet service interruption. 8-)

Any other bars not showing in the rankings that did play??

Thanks Bud for mentioning this. I just assumed it was a local issue but we both seemed to have problems at the same time.

Anyone hear anything from BT on this? I sent them an email, no response, not that I was actually expecting one.
