Before playing this game, my opinion was this is not a good game for Friday night.
After playing the game, my opinion is unchanged. Buzztime can boast "it's not all about sports" all it wants. It's primarily about football. I can imagine a lot of people who have nothing more than a casual interest in football & who came out to play Speed Freaks / Topix / Spotlight probably were very unhappy tonight. Buzztime has now given them two choices: don't arrive until Spotlight starts or stay home.
This would be a perfect game to run before Sports Trivia and/or Sports IQ. But not before Spotlight.
As for the game itself, overall, I thought it was okay.
I did like how it gave the network scores at the end of each quarter...although doing it halftime too (after just six questions or however many # of questions were in that round) was too excessive.
The negatives:
The pace of the game seemed extremely slow. I liked the pace much better during the 2 Minute Warning & Halftime questions.
It's also a big fail that the potential score you're going to get for the question (as the points timer is counting down) is not displayed on the Playmaker after you select your answer. That's done for every game that has a points timer. It's done for the bread & butter games (Countdown / buzztime). There's no excuse not to have it for this game.
It's unclear how the team score is determined. Do they take the average of everyone playing? Do they take the average of the top 100 players on the team? How is it determined? If it's the average of everyone on the team, then it won't be long before players get the idea to log in as a member of the opposing team to sabotage that team's score. Buzztime has to make it clear how they're compiling the team score.
Yet another game with a final question wager. But at least you can only lose 25% now instead of 50%

I was sure the final answer was the Dolphins, but they weren't a choice

After I got home, I looked up Miami's results from previous seasons...and noticed they played in Canada in 2008

As Time Goes By, indeed.
Will I play it again? Yeah, but only because I'm going out to play Spotlight. The game by itself does nothing for me. I don't plan on playing any more or less on Friday night than I already do now.
